I would like to join with our entire Parish Community to express our deepest sympathy. The death of someone we love is always traumatic. Thankfully our faith and trust in God does help us to approach the experience of dying and death itself with the realization that one day we will be reunited.
The Funeral Liturgy offers an opportunity to begin the process of grieving. The choice of Music and Readings are a very important part of making the Funeral Mass more personal.
The book, THROUGH DEATH TO LIFE, is an aid to help you choose readings that are meaningful. Click Readings to print the form for your choice of Readings this form has a line for the names of those doing the readings. At the Funeral the reading will already be enlarged and on the Pulpit.
Click Music to print the form for Music that is appropriate at Funeral Masses. Normally during the entire Rite of Christian Burial five songs are sung.
When you have completed these two forms, please give them to your Funeral Director and they will FAX them to me, or you may do so directly at 508-457-1723. Please do this at least the night before the Funeral. If you choose you may give these forms back to me at the time of the Wake Service.
Also, the Basement Hall of the Church may be used for a reception with your family and friends; most folks contact a local service to cater this gathering. Please call the Office at 508-548-0108 to see if the Hall is available and to let us know how many guests so we can set up the tables and chairs you will need.
Peace, Rev. William M. Costello Pastor
VIRTUES OF FAITH
This window reflects the hope and light of the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. What once was the sign of death becomes the symbol of hope and new life.
